This project aims to trap and decompose ammonia gas from agricultural residues using specially designed polymeric materials as part of selective filters that are specifically designed to interact with gas. Ammonia is a harmful gas, and it has the potential to cause serious damage to humans and the environment. It is also dangerous because it becomes the starting compound for other unwanted side reactions to produce more toxic compounds, under certain atmospheric conditions. In the United Kingdom, agricultural activities are the main source of this gas. It is important to reduce its impact without damaging this sector by implementing solutions that are simple and cost-effective.
Our solution envisages a simple, cost-effective, efficient, and manageable filtering system that can be fitted to combustion systems or to gas systems acting as a selective trap for ammonia gas while letting other compounds to get through. Our expertise allows us to design, manufacture and implement practical solutions that can help this economic sector to become more environmentally friendly by drastically reducing the amount of ammonia pumped into our atmosphere.
